Soprano
Elena Plaza
About me
My name is Elena Plaza and I am a spanish soprano cu-rrently based in Germany. I started my training as a cla-ssical singer at the Esmuc in Barcelona where I did my degree in classical and contemporary singing and I com-plemented my formation with different masterclasses at European universities such as Mozarteum in Austria or Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris.
I have always been interested in different repertoires and languages. In 2016 I received a scholarship from the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation, which allowed me to get in contact with many other young talented musicians and great professionals in the world of Lied. Also during those years I did my debut as soloist in Barcelona with Handel's opera Orlando in the role of Angelica in 2018 and was member of the Chorakademie Lübeck during two years, which also gave me a great experience in the field of choral music. I sang in in diverse concert halls, theatres and festivals in Europe: in
Bensançon/Montfaucon Early Music Fest, in the LIFE Vitoria Lied Festival, in L'Auditori from Barcelona, in Warsaw Opera, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Sommerblut Kulturfestival, AvantGarten Liedberg, WDR, Deutschlandfunk and Oper Köln among others.
Since 2019 I live and work in Cologne, where I am doing my Master's degree in Musical Theatre at the HfMT Cologne with Prof. Brigitte Lindner.
