«Poemas de Malú»

Poemas de Malú (2020/21) by Martín Letelier is a composition for two sopranos a cappella on texts by the Chilean author Malú Urriola. Composed during the pandemic, this work explores throughout its 5 movements topics related to isolation, such as loneliness, affection or perseverance (see poems below). In this intimate setting of two singers without instrumen-tal accompaniment, a varied technical range is explored, from conventional melodic language to spoken chant and microtonality.
